Lois E. Drottz, 92, of East Moline, IL, died Sunday, March 13, 2016, at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis, IL.
Per her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and a private graveside service will be at National Cemetery at the Rock Island Arsenal. Memorials may be made to Hope Creek Care Center. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Lois was born on October 12, 1923, in St. Louis, MO, the daughter of Ernest Milton and Beulah Elizabeth Murray Grogan. She married Vern Orville Drottz on April 25, 1940. She worked as a manager for Younkers. Prior to Younkers, she worked at a factory, ice cream parlor, and resort.
In her younger years, Lois enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and gardening.
Survivors include her children, Carole Carbo, Moline, IL, Larry Drottz, Kansas City, MO, and Cheryl (fiancé, Jack Zufall) Dimick, Parrish, FL; 6 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
