Lois M. Larson McAdams, 97, of Moline, passed away, July 15, 2025, at Friendship Manor, Rock Island.

Private family services will be held at Esterdahl Mortuary and Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Private Interment will be at the Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Augustana College or First Lutheran Church, Moline.

Lois was born on July 30, 1927, in Canby, Minnesota, the daughter of Joseph T. and Ruth Adelle (Halaas) Tollefson. She married Donald A. Larson in Moline, IL on December 17, 1949; he preceded her in death on December 4, 2006. Lois later married Ben McAdams on August 8, 2009; he preceded her in death on July 10, 2023.

Lois attended Augustana College and received her bachelor’s in education in 1949. She worked as a grade school teacher in Rock Island, and as a substitute teacher and an assistant librarian for the Moline School District. Lois is a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Moline, and she later joined the First Lutheran Church in Moline. Lois was in the Bell Choir for Trinity Lutheran Church. She was extremely proud of being part of the Kings Daughters, Carolyn Getz Circle, PEO, the Augustana Endowment Society, and the Phi Rho Sorority while she was attending Augustana College.

Survivors include her children, Peggy (Dean) Schriefer of Moline, IL. Richard (Linda) Larson of Minneapolis, MN, Jana Mikhail of South Elgin, IL, and D. Joseph (Lori) Larson of Davenport, IA; grandchildren, David (Tricia) Schriefer, Noelle (Brian) Smith, Christian (Allie) Larson, Brenna (Jordan) Murray, Micalena (Jonathan Ortega) Mikhail, Kristoph (Olivia Mazzone) Mikhail, and Hunter Larson; great-grandchildren, Nora, Avery, Wesley, Willow, Ryder, and Isla.

She was preceded in death by her parents, spouses Donald and Ben, and sister Joan Falde.
