Lois I. Paxton, 89, of East Moline, IL, died Sunday, April 20, 2014, at Illini Restorative Care, Silvis, IL.
A graveside service will be held at Noon, Monday, April 28, 2014, at National Cemetery at Rock Island Arsenal. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Those wishing to attend the graveside service will need to meet at the funeral home at 11:30 a.m. Memorials may be made to the family. Following the graveside service a celebration luncheon will be held at the McGeehee Center which is located in the rear of Schadt Park in Silvis, IL.
Lois was born on November 25, 1924, in What Cheer, Iowa, the daughter of David A. and Carrie E. (Kuntz) Crane. She married Everett L. Paxton on July 22, 1944, in Farson, IA. During WWII, she worked in the ammunition factory in Ankeny, IA.
Lois was very active and she enjoyed golfing, bowling, camping, and mall walking. She also enjoyed gardening, needle work, and socializing with others. She was totally devoted to her husband's care.
