Lola was born on May 14, 1926, in Sikeston, MO, the daughter of Fleary Cirgus and Nellie (Dean) Troxell. Lola grew up in Southeast Missouri and worked the family farm until her parents moved to Rock Island during WWII to find work. Her family moved to Dexter, MO, and that is where she met and later married the love of her life, Hermis Mossman, on April 8, 1946. They moved to Rock Island to find work and lived together in Rock Island and then Milan their entire married life. He preceded her in death in 1996.

Lola worked for a short time in the late 50's at the Comfort Harbor in Milan. In her journey of faith in action, she worked the church nursery, Vacation Bible School, church youth work and volunteered for Christian Friendliness for many years. She, along with her husband and children were members of Bethany Baptist Church in Moline. One of the things she really enjoyed was her daily devotional time in Bible Study and reading the Bible all the way through from Genesis to Revelations.

Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were her greatest joys. The last three years she has been a resident of Heritage Woods Assisted Living Center, Heartland Care Center and finally Hope Creek Care Center where she passed in her sleep. Everyone there remembers her as a caring, loving, sweet, and helpful person. All the residents and staff will miss her. We do not say goodbye Mom, Mother, Grandma and Nana, but farewell, one day we will have a great reunion in heaven.

Survivors include
Sons David (Phyllis) Mossman
Michael (Melody) Mossman
6 grandchildren
9 great grandchildren with 2 on the way
Many nieces and nephews who enjoyed the love of a wonderful aunt

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 6 sisters, Reba Murray, Medrith Walker, Geroldia Hicks, Marie Wybark, Doris Gaines, and Cordia Seabaugh; brother, J.D. Troxell.
