Lonnie E. Cutkomp, 74, of Moline passed away on Friday, July 7, 2023, at his residence.

A funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline.  Visitation will be from noon until service time.  Cremation rites will follow services.  Memorials may be made to his family.

Lonnie was born on June 16, 1949, in Muscatine, Iowa, the son of Margaret Cutkomp and Donald Ostrand.  He was the second oldest of eight children.  He was a brother to Linda (Larry) Phillips, Dusty (Linda) Cutkomp of Milan, Bill Cutkomp of Moline, Don (Bridgett) Ostrand of Murieta, California, Jeff (Marilyn) Ostrand of Bettendorf, Debbie Coverdill of Moline and Pam Ostrand of Milan

Lonnie attended Rock Island High School.  He met the love of his life, Kathy Rae Thomas while working at the Fort Theater in Rock Island, and they married in October of 1967 in Milan.  She preceded him in death on February 18, 2015.

Lonnie obtained his first CDL and started his career in truck driving.  He drove for 41 years before retiring from C&J Trucking in Grand Mound and Amhof Trucking in Eldridge.

Lonnie was blessed with a new title of Dad to Nancy (Cutkomp) Johnson of Davenport and Christopher a.k.a. “Hot Rod” (Crystal) Cutkomp of Rock Island.  Later in life he was given a new title of Papa to Ian Muske of Davenport, David Cantu of Manasses, Virginia, Jaxon Cutkomp of Rock Island and 1 great granddaughter Ada Muske of Aledo.  Lonnie truly loved being a dad and papa and he truly loved spending time with his family.

Lonnie enjoyed watching Jaxon play football and hockey and never missed a game.  He was also an avid 49er’s fan and Pittsburgh Penguin fan.  He supported the local teams including the Q.C. Mallards and the Q.C. Storm when he was able.  He also loved riding his Harley as well as attending car shows and stock car races.

Those left to cherish his memory include his children Nancy Cutkomp Johnson and Christopher (Crystal) Cutkomp; grandchildren; Ian, David, Jaxon; great granddaughter; Ada; siblings; Dusty, Bill, Don, Jeff, Debbie and Pam as well as many nieces and nephews.

Lonnie was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Kathy; sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Larry Phillips and a nephew, T.J. Baker.

The family asks to honor Lonnie’s memory by attending services in jeans, t-shirts and their favorite ball caps.
