Lorraine Spillum

Lorraine E. Spillum, 96, of Moline, passed away Sunday, March 13, 2022, at her home.

Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 21, 2022, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline.  Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.  Inurnment will be at Rock Island National Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to QC Paws (qcpaws.org).

Lorraine was born on November 12, 1925, in Galesburg, IL, the daughter of Ray and Olga (Johnson) Frye. She married Floyd B. Spillum on October 1, 1950, in Galesburg. He preceded her in death on May 24, 2013. Lorraine worked as a secretary at Moline High School. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Moline. She enjoyed gardening and her yard was to be proud of. “A family that golfed together, stayed together,” and we played a lot of golf. The many friends she got to know from Mill Creek and Oakwood CC, the girls’ leagues at Indian Bluff, Saukie, her long standing bridge club, and the Curves Girls. Nothing could keep her away when Tiger Woods was on the TV. Lorraine always put others before herself.

Survivors include her sons, Curtis Spillum, Moline, Dean Spillum, Moline, Dan (Wendy) Spillum, Bloomington, MN; grandchildren, Danny, Ben, Alex, Chris (Stacie), Dean Jr., Katie (Montana); and 5 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Floyd; siblings, Lucille and Virgil.
