Lucille K. Howie

Lucille K. Howie, 84, of Rock Island, passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at UnityPoint Health Trinity, Bettendorf.

Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m., Saturday, May 28, 2022, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Graveside services will immediately follow at Rose Lawn Cemetery, Moline. Memorials may be made to Hobe Sound Nature Center, P.O. Box 214, Hobe Sound, FL 33475.

Lucille was born on March 29, 1938, in Moline, Illinois, the daughter of Clifford and Marguerite (May) Bolt. She married Raymond Howie on November 13, 1959, in Rock Island. She previously worked as a registrar at the Rock Island Arsenal, retiring in 2001. Lucille loved being outdoors, playing golf, tennis, kayaking, and going on walks. She also enjoyed woodworking. Lucille was a wonderful caregiver to her family, and she will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her husband, Ray; children, Tracy (Dave) Boothby, Port St. Lucie, FL, Todd (Cheryl) Howie, San Antonio, TX, Darcy Stewart, Milan; grandchildren, Josh (Melanie), Shawn, Tony (Anna), Brittany, April, Austin (Samantha); great grandchild, Raelyn, Maddie, Bentley, Giselle, Aurora, Charlianne, Ruby, Zach, Echo, Max; sisters, Beverly Hartman, Milan, Suzanne Huntley, Rock Island.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, and great granddaughter, Kayla.

Our family is sincerely grateful for Dr. Hass, her staff, and all the care providers of UnityPoint Health Trinity Bettendorf. They showed kindness and compassion, treating our mom like a family member. They referred to her as the "grandma of the floor".
