Lyle G. Foster

Lyle G. Foster, 88 of Milan, passed away on September 4, 2026 at the Cedar Manor Nursing Home in Tipton, Iowa.

A funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. on September 9th, 2026 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. in Moline Visitation will be from 4-7 on Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens in East Moline where military honors will be conducted. Memorials may be made to Bethel Church or to the family.

Lyle was born on April 22, 1938 in Moline, Illinois the son of Paul W. and Charlotte Miner Foster. He married Barbara “Barb” J. Hasson on February 14, 1959 in Rock Island and she preceded him in death on September 1, 2023.

Lyle was a veteran of the United States Navy having served from 1957 – 1959. He was employed as a sheet metal worker with the Schebler Company. Lyle was a member of Bethel Church in Rock Island where he was very involved both on the church board and as a deacon. He enjoyed training his dogs and as well as turkey and duck hunting.

Survivors include his children; Jeanie (Darryl) Cassatt, Greg Foster and Joanie (Mark) Humphrey; grandchildren; Bill (Stacey) Hirth, Julie (Michael) Tompos, Katie Cassatt, Bradley (Krystal) Foster, Ryan (Lauren) Foster, Elizabeth Cook, Kristal (Zach) Ziffer and Joshua (Hannah) Humphrey and many great grandchildren.

Lyle was preceded in death by his parents, wife and daughter-in-law, Kelly.
