M. Vance Seitzinger, age 81, of Moline, died Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 5, 2011 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation is from 10:00-11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Entombment is at Moline Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to University of Illinois Seitzinger Endowment Scholarship Fund or Quad City Animal Welfare Center.
M. Vance was born October 11, 1929 in Flat Rock, IL, the son of Leonard Eli and Bertha Edith Clark Seitzinger. He married Joyce Clark on May 29, 1955 in Cambridge, IL. She preceded him in death in 2005.
Vance received an agricultural degree after four years at University of Illinois, where he was an Alumni. After college he sold insurance and then became a realtor retiring in the late 1990's with Mel Foster. He also was on the board of review at Rock Island County. He was a longtime member of South Park Presbyterian Church in Rock Island. He loved going to summer concerts but especially enjoyed concerts at Augustana College, and was a season ticket holder for the Quad City Symphony Orchestra. Vance loved gardening, roses, and traveling with his wife. He also loved the family vacations to Vermont where he spent time skiing. Vance enjoyed attending the Cardiac Rehab Group held at the Pepsico Building at Augustan College and also getting coffee at Hasty Tasty.
