M. Dale Snell

M. Dale Snell, 91, of Lynn Center, passed away on November 6, 2025, at his home with his children at his side.

Private services were held with interment at Western Township Cemetery. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Orion, assisted the family.

Dale was born on March 25, 1934, in Moline the son of Maurice and Esther (Franzen) Snell. He married Norma Jean Lee on July 11, 1959, in Morris, Illinois. She preceded him in death on November 28, 2021.

Dale was a U.S. Veteran, having served in the Army during the Korean War. Dale had a great sense of humor. He enjoyed the comics in the Sunday newspaper, along with comedy television shows and movies. He also enjoyed his bacon and eggs for breakfast to start the day. Dale loved being a farmer in the Lynn Center area.

Survivors include his children, Brenda Snell-Snapp, Brad (Debbie) Snell, Beth Liedtke (Neil Hamerlinck), Bryan Snell (Rebecca Carpenter), Bobbie (Sam) Pilger; 11 grandchildren, Jake, Josh, Cortney, Bailey, Tyler, Carter, Emilee, Erik, Erron, Scotty, Paige; and 5 great grandchildren, Roman, Michael, Kinley, Loralei, Beckett; sister, Nancy (Jim) Fox; brothers, Norman Snell and Steve (Patty) Snell; sister-in-law, Beth Lee; and brothers-in-law, Richard Lee and Tom Gainey.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Norma; daughter, Becky Grundstrom; sisters-in-law, Marian Snell, Joyce Woodley, Debra Gainey; brother-in-law, Bob Lee; niece, Kara Matzen; and nephews, Devin Fox and Ritchie Lieving.
