Manuel Jesus Munoz, 83, of Moline, IL, died Monday, August 27, 2012 at his home in Moline.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, August 31, 2012 at Riverside United Methodist Church, 712 16th Street, Moline. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, August 30, 2012 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Burial will be at Moline Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to his family.
Manuel was born on May 30, 1929 in Lebu, Chile, the son of Luis and Rosa (Mardones) Munoz. He married Nefra Alicia Huenteo Parra on March 25, 1955 in Lebu, Chile. In 1977, Manuel emigrated from Chile to the United States, becoming an American citizen in 1999. He attended the United Methodist Church Seminary in Chicago. He also served at the First United Methodist Church in Valparaiso, Indiana. Manuel was a Methodist Minister at Hispanic United Methodist Church in Rock Island, IL, retiring in 2002.
