Marcella V. (Kelso) Smith

Marcella V. (Kelso) Smith, 82, of Moline, passed away Thursday, January 20, 2022, at her home.

Cremation rites will be accorded. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 29, 2022, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Inurnment will be at Riverside Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made to the family.

Marcella was born on August 2, 1939, in Moline, the daughter of Virgil and Louise (Johns) Kelso. She married Lloyd McKinley and together they had three children. He preceded her in death. Marcella previously worked as a home care provider with Guardian. She was an avid Chicago Bears and Kentucky Wildcats fan. Marcella loved going to yard sales and talking to her family on the phone. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her grandkids.

Survivors include her children, Karlene McKinley, and Eric (Debra) McKinley; grandchildren, Elijah Porter, Jamaree (Taylor) Atwater, Jennifer McKinley, Brooke (Josh) Spaulding, Sorrell McKinley, Carrington (Grant) Miller; great grandchildren, Tatum, Maveric, Tierra, Dash, and Jaylen; sister, Helen (Theodore) Tirrell; niece, Camille and nephew, Mitch, along with several other nieces and nephews; and special neighbors, Ray and Linda Eddleman and their family.

She was preceded in death by her son, Alec McKinley, siblings, Clifford Kelso, Raymond Kelso, and Donna Wells.
