Margaret K. Johansen

Margaret K. Johansen, 75, of Silvis, passed away May 9, 2025.

Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday May 17, 2025, at Christ the King Catholic Church, Moline. Visitation will be one hour prior to the Mass. Cremation rites have been accorded and private inurnment will be at Rose Lawn Cemetery.

Margaret was born on October 27, 1949, in Davenport, Iowa, the daughter of Hilmer and Pauline Johansen. She was born with cerebral palsy and received help through her younger years from Easter Seals. She also walked with a walker and did well. She was a very sweet and quiet person who loved being with her family, especially during the holidays. Margaret enjoyed watching and playing with toddlers, dogs, and cats. She owned and loved Katie and her kitten, Star. She also enjoyed the Bears and country singer, Blake Shelton. Margaret had several bad years towards the end; she was dropped in a hospital, then paralyzed, and went through many hospitals and surgeries after. She then finally went into a nursing home.

Margaret is survived by her sister Barbara Reuther (Bob) Potter.

She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Tom Dreher (Denise) and Charlene (Gary) VanSant; fiancé, Rusty Fierce.

God came and said, “Margaret you have had enough I am taking you home!” So he did on May 9, 2025.
