Margery A Schenk

Margery A. Schenk, 81, of Orion, passed away, Saturday, February 13, 2021, at Friendship Manor, Rock Island.

Private family graveside service will be held at Chapel Grove Cemetery, Taylor Ridge.  A public memorial service will be held Saturday, May 22, 2021 at 10:30am at Orion United Methodist Church.  Memorials may be made to Orion United Methodist Church Mission Fund.  Esterdahl Mortuary and Crematory, Ltd., Orion is assisting the family.

Margery was born on November 18, 1939, in Moline, the daughter of Delbert G. and Bernice D. (Liphardt) Stropes.  She married John E. Schenk in April 1989 in Orion.  Margery was a registered nurse for over 30 years serving at area hospitals.  She was also a parish nurse for over 3 years at Orion United Methodist Church.  She was a member of Orion United Methodist Church where she was an active volunteer (V.I.M.).  Margery enjoyed travelling.

Survivors include her husband, John; children, Steve Hutt, Dan Hutt, and Lynn Leffler; grandchildren, Chelcy, Danielle, D.J., Dalton, and Dylan; step grandchildren, Brian, Bradley, Brandon; adopted family members, Michel Lundula and Emmanuel Naweji; great grandchildren; & brother, Ray (Susan) Stropes.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
