M. Sylvia Muňoz

M. Sylvia Muňoz, 78, of Colona, passed away, July 14, 2024, at her home, surrounded by her loved ones.

Private graveside services will take place at a later date. Cremation rites will be accorded. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline is assisting the family.

Sylvia was born on January 9, 1946, in Eagle Pass, Texas. She married Daniel Muňoz on September 7, 1963, in Albert Lea, Minnesota. Sylvia was a former member of the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Colona. She retired from the Colona Grade School as a cafeteria manager in 2000, after over 20 years. She enjoyed going to garage sales, dancing, and being with her family. She also liked to listen to Mexican and country music.

Survivors include her husband, Daniel; children, Anastacia Del Rio, Campbells Island, Daniel Muňoz, Jr., East Moline, David (Ellen) Muňoz, Moline, Andrew (Carolee) Muňoz, Geneseo; 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; brother, Carlos (Georgina) Cardenas, San Antonio, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her mother.
