Marie L Engwall

Marie L. Engwall, 94, of East Moline, passed away Friday, October 14, 2022, at Illini Restorative Care, Silvis.

Visitation will be from 4pm to 7pm Monday, October 17, 2022, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd, 6601 38th Ave, Moline, IL, 61265.  Cremation rites will take place following the visitation. Memorials may be made to the Battered Women’s Shelter in Moline.

Marie was born on December 17, 1927, in Moline, the daughter of Lester and Mabel (Yeater) York. Marie worked as a nursing aid. She was a lifetime member of the PTA. Marie was president of the Social Club at Ridgewood Towers. She loved playing bingo, slots, and puzzles.

Survivors include her children Carline Lee, Jodean (Mickey) Spies, and Michael (Sharon) Engwall; 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 15 great great-grandchildren; and special friend, Dwight “Pinky” Thomas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter Patricia, 3 sisters, and 2 brothers.
