Marie E. "Mary" Muñoz, 66, of Silvis, IL, died Saturday, July 12, 2014, at University of Iowa Hospitals, Iowa City, IA.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 16, 2014, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1307-17th Avenue, Moline. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 15, 2014, with a Rosary at 1:45 p.m. at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 - 38th Avenue, Moline. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the family.
Mary was born on September 27, 1947, in Mason City, IA, the daughter of Bibian and Carmen Barragan Alvarez. She married Jose Muñoz on October 17, 1964 in Mason City, IA. Mary worked at Pinnacle Stanrick Corporation for nine years and then worked at X Pac for 7 years, retiring in January of 2014. Mary was an eighteen-year breast cancer survivor and walked the Race For the Cure each year with her family. She especially enjoyed spending time with her dog, Priscilla, and her family and grandchildren and great grandkids.
