Mickey was born October 20, 1937, in Orion, Illinois, the daughter of James and Maxine Radue Keleher. She married Roger Woodley on November 29, 1958, in Orion, he preceded her in death on January 25, 2018.
She was the co-founder of Highland Packing Company in Colona Illinois established in 1969. She was involved with accounting and administrative issues of the business while raising a family of three children, Rod, Ronda and Russell. She was a member of Valley View Country Club, Orion Booster Club and participated in theatre productions of the Orion Corn Cob Players. Mickey enjoyed several hobbies including golf, bowling, sewing, and crossword puzzles. Her favorite activity was mowing her lawn on the zero-turn riding mower.
Mickey was involved with the Orion Fall Festival each year and helped serve thousands of pork chop dinners for the annual fundraising event. She also served as a volunteer for patient services at Illini Hospital and was a member of the Orion PTA. As an owner of Highland Pack, she made many generous contributions to local benefits, sports teams, and those in need of a helping hand.
Being “Grandma Mickey” was her true passion and watching her grandchildren brought her great joy. The kids loved hanging out at her house because grandma’s rules were pretty flexible and having fun was the top priority. Building forts in the basement, swinging on the rope swing or playing crazy 8’s were some of her favorites things. Attending football, basketball, volleyball, soccer, golf, and baseball games of her kids and grandchildren kept her very busy. Family trips to the frozen tundra of Lambeau Field were an annual adventure, filled with cheering on the Green Bay Packers. Vacations to Anna Maria Island in Florida, where she and Roger owned a condo, provided some of her fondest memories.
Survivors include children, Rod (Teresa) Woodley of Westfield, Indiana, Ronda (Bruce) Marshall of Orion, and Russ (Tamra) Woodley of Orion; brother, Pat Keleher; sisters-in-law, Susie Keleher and Marlene Keleher; seven grandchildren, Kayci (Matt) Mikrut, Royce (Sarah) Woodley, Sara Marshall, Jason Marshall, Kassie Peterson, Karissa (Charm) Smith, Kelsey Cooper, great granddaughter Jayde Peterson and great grandson Theodore Mikrut.
