Marilynn L. Collins, 90, of Bettendorf, IA, died Monday, January 25, 2016, at Rosewood Care Center, Moline, IL.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, February 1, 2016, at the National Cemetery at the Rock Island Arsenal. Per her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline, is assisting with arrangements.
Marilynn was born on September 25, 1925, in Indianapolis, IN, the daughter of Wyman and Esther Dzuck Carey. She married John Collins in November of 1950 in Illinois. She worked as a librarian for the National Meat and Livestock Board.
Marilynn was an active member of Flossmoor Community Church. She enjoyed gardening and collecting antiques. She shared a great love of writing and books.
Survivors include her loving husband, John; daughters, Allison (James) McCarthy and Cynthia (Brad) Baldwin; 3 grandchildren, Mark Baldwin, Madeline McCarthy, and Meredith McCarthy; brother, Wyman (Carol) Carey.
She was preceded in death by her parents and 3 sisters, Marjorie, Kathleen, and Carol.
