Marjorie M. Schillinger, 86, of Osco, IL, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at Springfield Memorial Hospital, Springfield, IL.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorial mass will be held at 10 am on Saturday, March 19, 2022, at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 313 S West St, Cambridge, IL 61238. Visitation will be one hour prior at the church. Inurnment will be at Western Township Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made to St. Joseph’s Indian School, 1301 N Main St, Chamberlain, SD 57325 (https://www.stjo.org/ ) or a charity of your choice in Marjorie’s name.
Marjorie was born on November 19, 1935, at home in rural Muscatine County, IA, the daughter of Edward J. and Mamie M.C. (Plett) Westerhof. She married Lloyd P. Schillinger on October 16, 1954, in Davenport, IA. She worked part time at the Osco and Colona post offices. Marjorie was a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Cambridge, IL. She was very devout in her faith. Marjorie loved spending time with family, traveling, square dancing, going to and hosting garage sales, and gardening.
Survivors include her husband, Lloyd; children, Ernie (Sara) Schillinger, Johnston, IA, Barry (Lydia) Schillinger, Chatham, IL, Carla (special friend, John Bogart) Schillinger, Osco, IL; grandchildren, Matthew Schillinger, Ryan Papke, Andrew Papke, Hayden Schillinger, and Halley Schillinger; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Brenda; grandson, Kevin; sisters, Dorothy Martens, Verna May DeKeukelaere, and Bernice Hughes.
