Mark A. Ash, 79, of Port Byron, passed away Saturday, July 23, 2022, near his home.
Cremation rites will be accorded, and a memorial visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Friday, July 29, 2022, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Memorials may be made to his family.
Mark was born on March 3, 1943, in Trenton, Missouri, the son of Harold and Florence Lea (Bryant) Ash. He was a U.S. Veteran, serving with the Navy on the USS Passumpsic during the Vietnam era. Mark was previously employed for over thirty years with John Deere Harvester as an inspector and powerhouse helper. During this time, he was also employed part time at Highland Packing in Colona as a delivery man. Mark was a member of the Orion VFW Post 143. He was an avid bowler, enjoyed playing cribbage and attended many races at Cordova Dragway.
Survivors include his children, Dave (Shelly DeVolder) Ash, Colona, Kim (Eric Rouw) Harris, Orion, Jeff Ash, Colona; grandchildren, Peyton Ash, Colona, Morgan Ash, Colona; sisters, Sue Ash, Blue Springs, MO, Joy Randolph, Florida; brother, Roy (Diane) Ash, Independence, MO.
He was preceded in death by his infant son, John, parents, brother, Allen, and twin sisters.
