Mark R. Hicks, 63, of Moline, IL, died Thursday, June 26, 2014, at University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics, Iowa City, IA.
Per his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, June 30, 2014, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline, IL.
Mark was born on December 8, 1950, in Moline, IL, the son of Ralph and Rowena Brattain Hicks. He graduated from Moline High School in the Class of 1968 and continued to be a part of the Reunion Committee. He married Susan Lewis on August 3, 1997, in Moline. Mark owned and operated Quad City Direct Mail, retiring in 2008. Prior to that, he owned and operated Happy Joe's in Coal Valley.
Mark proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. He was a past member of Oakwood Country Club and enjoyed golfing. He also enjoyed gardening, camping, and cooking. Mark was an avid Bears fan.
