Martha L. Bonynge, 92 formerly of Orion, IL died August 21, 2008 at Illini Resotrative Care Center, Silvis, IL.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 25, 2008 at Orion United Methodist Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the church. Burial will be in Western Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Orion United Methodist Church or Orion Educational Foundation.
Martha was born June 14, 1916 in Keithsburg, IL to Elmer E. and Florence (Logan) Smith.
She married Robert Paul Bonynge on June 5, 1937 in Aledo. He preceded her in death on March 25, 1999.
Martha was employed in the Orion Community School District #223 teaching first grade for 27 years.
Martha was a member of the Orion United Methodist Church, where she belonged to the Queen Esther Circle. She was a former member of the Orion Women's Club and Orion Education Association. She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star, Orion., the OTC Club and 6th Street Ladies Club. She was also a loyal Cubs fan. She and her husband Bob enjoyed traveling to all 50 states, Canada and Mexico.
