Martha P. Rittmueller, 72, of East Moline, IL, passed away peacefully, after an acute and sudden illness, on Saturday, January 24, 2015, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, IA.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 29, 2015 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 2815 W. 3rd Street, Coal Valley, IL. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 28, 2015, at Esterdahl Mortuary and Crematory, Ltd., 6601-38th Avenue, Moline, IL. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or Honor Flight of the Quad Cities.
Martha was born on October 27, 1942, in, Moline, IL, the daughter of Frank and Hilda Schroeder Sievers.
She married Matthew Bazik in 1962. He preceded her in death in 1994. She later married Wilbert E. "Ritt" Rittmueller on May 17, 2003, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Coal Valley.
Martha started and operated Lavender Crest Winery, with her husband, Ritt, in Colona since 2004. She formerly was the Director of the University of Illinois Home Extension.
Martha was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Coal Valley, IL. She was also a member of the Moline Rotary Club.
