Martha J. Wren

Martha J. Wren, 70, of Moline, passed away Monday, May 22, 2023, at River Crossing of Moline.

Memorial services will be held at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday May 30, 2023, at Gospel Assembly in Moline. Visitation will be from 11-2 p.m. and 4-5:30 p.m. at the church on Tuesday. Following the memorial service there will be a time for fellowship at the Village Inn 2122 53rd St., Moline.

Martha was born on June 3, 1952, in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of Herman L. and Frankie M. (Rosco) Watkins Martha retired as a LPN in 2014. She worked in nursing homes, and she really enjoyed doing home healthcare with her patients. Prior to becoming a LPN she worked in restaurant management. She enjoyed cooking, baking, crafting and spending time with her family and friends and especially children. The family would like to thank everyone who played a role in Martha’s life, sharing love and support.

Martha most recently was a member of Gospel Assembly in Moline and formerly a member of Crossroads Assembly of God in East Moline for 24 years where she taught Sunday School.  God and her church family were a very important part of her life.  Her favorite saying is "God is good all the time!" We consider her a prayer warrior because of her concern for others.

Survivors include her son, Charles Burns; sister, Kathy (Steve) Spinner; brother, Ronnie (Connie) Watkins; nieces, Amber, Tina, Tammy, Jerri, Cheri, Cindi; nephews, Victor and Matt; and numerous great nieces and great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Retta.
