Marvin G. Irwin, 69, of Moline, went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 5, 2014 at UnityPoint Health Trinity Moline.
A funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 10, 2014 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601 38 Avenue, Moline. Visitation will be from 3:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Private burial will take place at a later time at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the church, to the family or to the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics Foundation Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Marvin was born on February 14, 1944 in Ladysmith, Wisconsin the son of John R. and Viola Buchholz Irwin. He married Donna Mess on April 9, 1965 in Moline.
Marvin was employed with Kone Inc. in research and development for 27 years and was currently still working part time on side projects. He was a member of Harvest Bible Chapel in Davenport. Marvin enjoyed fishing, golfing, wood working and will always be remembered for helping others. Above all he lived and loved playing with his grandson, Gabriel.
He is survived by Donna, his wife of over 48 years.
