Marvin H. Swanson

Marvin H. Swanson, 81, of Orion, died Sunday, August 19, 2012 at his home.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, August 23, 2012, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 1001-9th St., Orion. Visitation will be two hours prior to the funeral on Thursday at the church. Burial will be in the Lutheran Cemetery, Orion. Military honors will be conducted by the Orion American Legion Post #255. Memorials may be made to the St. Paul Lutheran Church.
Marvin was born February 20, 1931 in Galesburg, IL, the son of Frank Oscar and Emma Peterson Swanson. He married Audrey Jones on February 23, 1952 at the Swedona Lutheran Church. He retired as assistant supervisor from the Eagle Food Warehouse in 1994 after 35 years.
Marvin was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. He served as past commander of the Orion American Legion Post #255. He was also a member and former councilman for the St. Paul Lutheran Church.
