Marvin E. Weigandt

Marvin E. Weigandt, 79, of Moline, died Sunday, June 27, 2010 at Trinity Rock Island.
Rite of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, July 1, 2010 at Christ the King Catholic Church, 3205 60th Street, Moline. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 6:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 30th at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline with a rosary held at 3:45 P.M. Entombment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by Moline American Legion Post #246. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or to the Kidney Foundation.
Marvin was born on October 14, 1930 in Moline to Bernhard and Ruth Allison Weigandt. He married Bernice A. VanRyckeghem on June 5, 1954 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Moline.
Marvin was employed by International Harvester in East Moline, retiring on May 1, 1979 after 31 years. After retiring he worked as a custodian for Christ the King Catholic Church for a couple of years. He was a member and former secretary of UAW Local 1304 East Moline. He was also a member of the Moline American Legion Post #246, VFW Post #2153 of Moline, and the Rock Island Conservation Club. Marvin was a former member of the East End Club. He enjoyed football, camping, and fishing. He was a avid Bears and Cubs fan as well as a fan of the Green Bay Packers.
