Mary M. Carmack, 103, of Moline, IL, died Friday, November 21, 2014, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, IA.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, November 24, 2014, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1307 17th Avenue, Moline. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. with a Recitation of the Rosary at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, November 23, 2014, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church where she was a longtime member.
Mary was born on November 8, 1911, in Tielt, Belgium, the daughter of Ferdinand and Augusta Heytens DeClerck. She married Joe Carmack on June 24, 1946 and he preceded her in death in December of 1987. Afterwards, she was very independent and lived alone until she was 99.
Mary worked for McKee Button Factory in Moline and later for Coca Cola in Rock Island. She enjoyed golfing and was a life member of Oakwood Country Club. Mary also belonged to several Bridge groups and enjoyed playing Duplicate Bridge.
