Mary Ann (Warner) Douglas, 85, formerly of Moline, died peacefully Feb. 1, 2011, at Good Samaritan Society, Davenport, Iowa.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, February 5, 2011 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601-38 Ave., Moline. Visitation will be held an hour prior to services. Cremation rites will be accorded following services. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Moline Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family
asks that memorials be made to Good Samaritan Society (700 Waverly Road, Davenport, IA 52804), where she spent the last years of her life.
Mary Ann was born April 3, 1925, in Dayton, Ohio, to David M. and Garnet Warner. She graduated from The Ohio State University in 1946 and belonged to Alpha Chi Omega and Eastern Star. She married John W. Douglas in 1947, and had four sons: Mark, John A., James and William. She worked at Batelle Labs, Peoria, and on the Rock Island Arsenal, retiring in 1985. She volunteered as a Rock Island County election judge for many years.
She enjoyed reading, art (drawing/calligraphy), music (playing piano), word puzzles, sewing and knitting, and playing/cheating at solitaire. Survivors include her sons, her sister Catherine, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother David R. and sister Ruth.
