Mary "Jeri" A. Fox, 88, of East Moline, formerly of Orion, IL, died Wednesday, October 07, 2015, at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline, IL.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 9, 2015, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, October 8, 2015, at the funeral home. Burial will be at National Cemetery at the Rock Island Arsenal, where military honors will be conducted by Moline American Legion Post 246. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to Hope Creek Care Center.
Mary was born on April 12, 1927, in Silvis, IL, the daughter of Robert E. and Bessie Bales Jones. She married Homer V. Fox on October 17, 1942, in Kahoka, MO, and he preceded her in death on September 13, 2000. She worked as a bindery worker for Desaulniers Printing Co. in Milan and Malco Window and Door Co. in Rock Island.
Mary was a veteran, having served in the United States Army during WWII. She enjoyed crocheting, cross stitching, crossword puzzles, bowling, camping, and traveling. Mary loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughters, Sandra (Robert) Mewes, East Moline, IL, and Karen Anselmi and special friend, Mike Anselmi, Moline, IL; son, Gary (Cheryl Brooks) Fox, Le Claire, IA; 6 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; brothers, Robert (Judy) Jones, Moline, IL, and Ronald (Dorothy) Jones, Moline, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Richard; sister, Betty.
