Mary Jane "Mickey" E. Leaf, 87, of Moline, IL, died Sunday, May 11, 2014, at Heartland Health Care Center, Moline, IL.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at First Covenant Church, 3303 41 Street, Moline. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, May 16, 2014, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. A private family burial will be held at a later date at National Cemetery at Rock Island Arsenal. Memorials may be made to Christian Friendliness.
Mickey was born on August 28, 1926, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of William and Ruth (Van Newland) Fischer. She was raised in Chicago and graduated from Amundsen High School in 1944. Mickey later studied opera and fine arts in Chicago. She married Dale "Pete" L. Leaf on July 27, 1946, and he preceded her in death in 1994. She worked as a secretary and bookkeeper for Lohse Automotive for 20 years, retiring in 1987.
Mickey was a member of First Covenant Church in Moline and a soloist for various churches throughout the community. She also played the organ and music was important to her. Even in her later years, Mickey kept very active; swimming 3 times a week, going to auctions, and continuously making new friends everywhere she went. She very much loved her time spent at her place on the Rock River.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
