Mary T. Rhodenbaugh, 90, of Silvis, IL, formerly of Sherrard, IL, died on Friday, January 18, 2013, at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis, IL.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m.on Tuesday, January 22, 2013, at Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home, 1301-4th Street, Orion, IL. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, January 21, 2013, at the funeral home with an Order of Eastern Star Service immediately following at 7 p.m. Burial will be at Western Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Mary's family for a fund to be established.
Mary was born on October 10, 1922, in Sherrard, IL, the daughter of Lester and Gladys (Thompson) Morgan. John and Lillie Thompson, her aunt and uncle, adopted and raised her. She married Dean W. Rhodenbaugh on October 4, 1941, in Swedona, IL. He preceded her in death on October 14, 1989. Mary worked as a bookkeeper and office manager of Shepherd Lumber in Sherrard. Later she worked in bookkeeping and accounts payable for Eagle Food, Inc. in Milan, until her retirement. She was a member of the Community Presbyterian Church of Sherrard, IL, as well as the Presbyterian Women and Sherrard Women's Club. Mary was a 50 year member of the Order of Eastern Star Valley Chapter 274. She was also in the Sherrard Fire Department Auxiliary and the Sherrard Lioness Club. Mary enjoyed spending time with family and friends, sewing on Wednesdays at church, and playing cards.
