Mary E. Thomas, 79, of Colona, IL, died Monday, September 15, 2014, at Genesis Medical Center - Silvis Campus, Silvis, IL.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, September 19, 2014, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, September 18, 2014, at the funeral home. Burial will be at National Cemetery at Rock Island Arsenal.
Mary was born on June 15, 1935, in Bloomington, IL, the daughter of Richard C. and Myrtle J. Williams Quinn. She married Charles Anderson in 1954 in Davenport, IA. She later married George Thomas on October 18, 1975, in Milan, IL, and he preceded her in death on October 6, 1988.
Mary worked as a spray painter for I.H. and later as a machine operator at QC Die Casting in Moline. Between positions, she worked as a waitress. After retiring from QC Die Casting in 1997, Mary went on to work as a teacher's aide for Colona Grade School.
Mary was a member of the Colona Lioness Club and the Colona 300 Supper Club. She was a people person who enjoyed visiting and traveling.
