Max O’Klock, 95, of San Jose, CA, died Thursday, January 12, 2017, at Amberwood Gardens in San Jose, CA.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 21, 2017, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, January 20, 2017, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Moline Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association .
Max was born on October 21, 1921, in East Moline, IL, the son of Dan and Annie Yuhas O’Klock. He married Halean W. Waddell on October 23, 1940, in Joliet, IL.
Max owned and operated Maxie’s Nightclub, The Mainliner, and The White Mule. After he sold his businesses he worked for Brainerd Honda where he became one of the top Honda salesmen in Minnesota.
Max was a member of Serbian Lodge 129, and in his younger years, he loved golf, fishing, hunting, and horseback riding.
Survivors include his children, Pamela O’Klock, Max (Cheryl) O’Klock, Jr., Danny (Diane) O’Klock, Mikel (Ann) O’Klock, and Taryn (Bruce) Schultz; 9 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; sister, Rosemarie Skladany.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brother, Danny O’Klock; granddaughter, Tiffany Schultz Porter.
