Melvin L. Malmloff, 70, of Silvis, IL, died Thursday, October 18, 2012, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, IA.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 23, 2012, on Melvin's birthday at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, October 22, 2012, at the funeral home. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Melvin was born on October 23, 1941, in East Moline, IL, the son of August J. and Bertha E. (Timmerman) Malmloff. He married Patricia S. Clark on February 13, 1971, in Silvis, IL. Melvin worked as a policeman for the City of Silvis Police Department and was the first K9 officer in the Quad Cities. Also, Melvin was the owner and operator of Red Carpet Limousine and co-owner and operator of a pool hall in East Moline. He was an avid boater and motorcycle enthusiast with a passion for cars.
