Merlyn Victor Buck, 80, of Colona, died Wednesday, October 3, 2012, at his home.
Graveside services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, October 8, 2012, at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Anyone wishing to attend may meet at 9:30 a.m. Monday morning at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601-38th Ave. Moline. A visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Merlyn was a U.S. Navy veteran and military honors will be conducted by the Moline American Legion Post #246. Memorials may be made to a fund to be established for the grandchildren's college education.
Merlyn was born October 18, 1931, in Winston, MO, the son of Archie V. and Lena Mae (Poston) Buck. He married Ruth Evelyn Larson Hubbard. She preceded him in death on August 8, 2009.
Merlyn was employed as an electrician for CRI&P Railroad and John Deere Harvester, East Moline.
