M.H. "Monty" Pollner

New Boston

M.H. “Monty” Pollner, 96, of New Boston, passed away, February 17, 2024, at Allure of Quad Cities.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, February 26, 2024, at Esterdahl Mortuary and Crematory Ltd., Moline.  Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. The service will be livestreamed and can be viewed on Monty’s obituary page at (esterdahl.com). Interment will be at Rock Island Arsenal National Cemetery, with Military Honors by the American Legion Post #246.  Memorials may be made to the New Boston Volunteer Fire/EMS Department

Monty was born on January 8, 1928, in Chicago, IL, the son of Elizabeth M. (Lang) and Carl L. Pollner. He married Nelda E. Gooding on July 13, 1952, in Hampton, IL. She preceded him on October 8, 2017. Monty loved woodworking and going fishing. He was in the United States Navy during WWII. Monty worked as a commercial artist in his younger years, but he retired working as a printing salesman for Desaulniers and Co.

Survivors include his son Randy (Janet) Pollner of Moline, IL; daughter Heather (Gary) Reardon of Ottawa, IL; daughter-in-law Paula Pollner of Colorado Springs, CO; grandchildren Jacob, Jennifer, Spencer, Quinn, Emily; 8 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; and sister-in-law Rosemary Pollner of Worthington, OH.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Nelda; son Tracy; and brother Henry “Hank” Pollner.
