Mike was born on May 18, 1940, in Moline, Illinois, to David and Janis (Killion) Driscoll. He graduated from Alwood High School in Woodhull in 1958 and shortly afterward proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1958 to 1961, stationed in California. Mike later attended Black Hawk College.

On June 26, 1964, Mike married Bonnie Lee Olson. Together they built a life, raised four children, and shared 43 years of marriage until Bonnie’s passing on July 3, 2007. Mike will be laid to rest with Bonnie at Rock Island National Cemetery.

Throughout his career, Mike worked as a computer technician for RCA, Univac, Unisys, LSG, and DynCorp. After retirement, he worked part-time for Avis/Budget.

In 2011, Mike met Terri Woolison, his fiancée and loving companion for the final 15 years of his life. Together, Mike and Terri built a beautiful relationship filled with traveling, laughter, and companionship. They truly embodied the meaning of unconditional love. Through Terri, Mike’s family grew again. He was lovingly embraced by her daughter, Jenny, her husband, Jamie, and their children, Ethan, Ian, and Abby, and later welcomed grandson River Lee.

Mike found happiness in the simple things. He enjoyed mowing his yard, listening to music and settling in with one of his Louis L’Amour western novels. He loved telling stories about his research on UFOs, and special times from his childhood with his cousins. Mike was also a big fan of the Chicago Bears.

Above all, Mike was tremendously proud of his family. His children and grandchildren were among the greatest joys of his life, and he took great pride in the people they became.

Mike is survived by his fiancée, Terri Woolison; his four children, Randy Driscoll and his wife, Becky, Penny Doyle and her husband, Steve, Shawn Driscoll and his wife, Amanda, and Kelly Schoenike and her husband, Ken; his sister, Joy Morland and her husband, Dean; his 10 grandchildren, Mitch, Michael, Aaron, Logan, Ethan, Ashton, Tyler, Greyson, Lauren, and Kassie; 6 great-grandchildren and one on the way; Terri’s daughter, Jenny and her husband, Jamie; their children, Ethan, Ian, and Abby; grandson, River Lee; and many other family members and friends who loved him.

He was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Beth Marie, parents, David and Janis Driscoll and his wife, Bonnie Lee Driscoll.
