Michael J. Prendergast

Michael J. Prendergast, 72, of Moline, passed away Tuesday November 5, 2024, at UnityPoint Health Trinity Rock Island.

Cremation rites will be accorded and inurnment will be at the Rock Island National Cemetery at a later date. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline, is assisting the family.

Michael was born on May 9, 1952, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Thomas J. and Helen V. (Brown) Prendergast. He was a U.S. Veteran, having served in the Air Force. He had previously been employed as a truck driver. Michael enjoyed working on small engines, reading westerns, NASCAR and cheering for the Chicago Bears.

Survivors include his sister, Marie Jones; nephew, James (Bridget) Crocker; niece, Debbie Crocker.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and one sister.
