Millard F. Blakeney, 86, of Moline, IL, died Tuesday, September 1, 2015, at home.
According to Millard's wishes his body will be cremated and there will be no services. Burial will be at National Cemetery at the Rock Island Arsenal. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Millard was born on January 26, 1929, in Chicago, IL, son of Millard and Margaret Blakeney. He married Betty Arvidson on April 30, 1955, at the Great Lakes Naval Base. He was a veteran, having proudly served in the United States Navy.
Survivors include his loving wife, Betty; sons, Mark Blakeney, Moline, IL, Kevin Blakeney, East Moline, IL, and Stephen Blakeney, Colona, IL; 5 grandchildren, Jennifer, Lyndsey, Brandy, Evan, and Michael; 1 great grandchild, Jaxon; sister, Margie Filmyer, Philadelphia, PA.
