District Missionary Emeritus Mary Conard, 74, of Davenport, IA, died Sunday, January 4, 2015, at Genesis Medical Center - East Campus, Davenport, IA.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 10, 2015, at Mount Olive Church of God in Christ, 1020 North Ripley Street, Davenport, IA. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Pine Hill Cemetery in Davenport, IA. Memorials may be made to the family. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mary was born on October 31, 1940, in Laurel, MS, the daughter of Mack and A.B. Chandlar King, Sr. She married Abraham "Mr. Clint" Clinton, Sr. and later married Deacon Joe Lewis Conard.
Mary worked various positions at John Deere Davenport Works until she retired. Prior to that, she worked for the Kahl Home and Brach's Candy Company.
Mary was a 46 year member of Mount Olive Church of God in Christ under the leadership of the late Pastor W.H. Frison. She became a missionary in 1973 and carried the heart of a District Missionary for over 20 years. She most recently became a member of Mount Moriah Jehova-Jireh Church of God in Christ, under the leadership of Pastor Donnell Owens.
Missionary Mary Conard was recognized for her service and love for Christ on Sunday, February 16, 2014, when Bishop Hurley Bassett, Sr., Jurisdictional Prelate, Bishop Leroy Johnson, Auxiliary Bishop, and Dr. M. Anthony Bell, Jurisdictional Executive Secretary proclaimed that day to be Emeritus District Missionary Mary Conard Day in the state of Iowa and extended on her title as M.W. Goodman District Missionary Emeritus.
She is survived by her husband, Joe
