M. Janelda Moore, 97, of East Moline, IL, died Tuesday, May 17, 2016, at Rosewood Care Center, Moline, IL.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, May 21, 2016, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, May 20, 2016, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rose Lawn Memorial Estate. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Janelda was born on August 21, 1918, in Hagan, GA, the daughter of Clarence and Mary Julia Clark Porschke. She married Warren Bowles on December 4, 1945, in Rock Island, IL, and he preceded her in death on July, 25, 1979. She later married John A. Moore on December 28, 1983, in Moline, and he preceded her in death on June 17, 1996.
Janelda was a volunteer for R.S.V.P. with the former Lutheran and Public Hospital, as well as Trinity Hospital. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and a past president of Plow Capital Chapter of ABWA.
Survivors include her daughters, Mary (Richard) Myers, Rock Island, IL, and Judith L. Fisher, Silvis, IL; 8 grandchildren, Bruce Myers, Kit Briner, Diana Becker, Beth Sullivan, LetitiaGates, Coreana Christine Fisher, Dan Olson, Mark Olson; numerous great and great great grandchildren; step children, Phyllis Epperly, Rita Preston, Alan Moore, and Larry Moore.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; daughters, Clarice Womack and Cora Lee Olson; brother, Waldo; 3 sisters, Ann, Cora, and Lucille.
