Nancy Gustafson

Nancy Gustafson, 78, of Moline, Illinois, passed away, October 9, 2023, at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am, Friday, October 13, 2023, at Christ Anglican Church 1717 8th Ave Moline, IL.  Memorials may be made to any area Animal Shelter.

Nancy was born on January 28, 1945, in Moline, Illinois, the daughter of Hazel (Hornbeck) and George W. Needham. Nancy was a proud and forceful presence in life as a mother, friend and companion.  She was always found smiling and laughing with those she loved and counted as friend.  Nancy loved to garden, play with her grand kids, travel, fish and generally be both the orneriest and funniest women anyone knew.  She will be remembered by all who knew her as a pillar of strength, two-time cancer survivor who never once gave up.  She always fought, always cared, always walked unbowed by the problems beset her.  Nancy’s absence leaves a hole in the lives of those who cared, but she would want that hole filled with love and fond memories.

Survivors include her two children Andrew (Sarah) and Alisa (Charles) Trent; brother William (Judy) Needham and brother-in-law Byron (Lisa) Becker; grandchildren Alex Hicks, Owen Gustafson, and Courtney and Chloe Trent; and her longtime companion, Steve Shetter

She was preceded in death by her parents Hazel and George Needham, and sister Jan Becker.
