Graveside services for Natalie C. Strombeck will be held at Noon, Friday, July 1, 2022, at Riverside Cemetery, Moline. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline, is assisting the family.
Natalie was born on January 23, 1946, in Moline, Illinois. When she was in Junior High School she moved with her family to Los Angeles. She excelled in scholastic and student government activities to the extent that she became Valedictorian and Student Body President of her High School in Westchester, California. She went on to study her freshman year at Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois, and then transferred to Stanford University on Palo Alto, California where she graduated and majored in History.
After college she decided to go into Real Estate Investment and purchased properties in Colorado, Utah, and California. She took charge of the management of these properties and did a number of 1031 Exchanges with them.
Natalie took a strong interest in supporting responsible government and participated in fundraising for a number of highly-qualified Democratic Candidates running for Office. Natalie over the years has been supportive of progressive legislation and has been interactive with key government officials in California and Colorado to promote the passage of social reforms.
Over the years Natalie enjoyed outdoor activities such as skiing, kayaking, swimming, and hiking.
In Natalie’s later years she fought valiantly to overcome breast cancer, spinal stenosis, and neuropathy. With heavy medication Natalie’s body finally gave in and she died of natural causes in San Diego on Sunday June 19, 2022, at 76 years of age.
Survivors include her brothers, George E. Strombeck, Rockford, Illinois, and Lowell J. Strombeck, Hawaii.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Reuben E. and Edith (Eck) Strombeck.
