Nathan Michael Soliz-Gomez, 32, of Moline, passed away Saturday, August 28, 2021, at UnityPoint Health Trinity, Rock Island.
A Musical Tribute Celebration of Life for the honorable Nathan Michael Gomez will be held Saturday, September 18, 2021, 2:00-8:00 p.m. at Lincoln Park Band Shell (38th St & 11th Ave Rock Island). A candelight vigil will start at dusk. Memorials may be made to the family. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Moline is assisting the family. In respect for the presence of his mother, Cindy, visitation, funeral and burial is to be announced.
Nathan was born on January 1, 1989, in Moline, the son of Cynthia Soliz. He was a loving uncle, son, brother, friend, and mentor. Nathan studied Music Production and was an Engineering major at Black Hawk College. He was a music teacher at River Music Experience and Guitar Center for drum, piano, and keyboard. He did commercial sales in TV, radio, and advertising under his music licensing “chefboyarbeats” at BMG Production. Nathan was a State Aid caretaker, childcare worker, school transporter, video game music composer, and owned Big Dawgs Hauling Service. As a former member of The Apostolic Assembly and a current member of The Sanctuary Quad Cities, Nathan was a Christian activist in his churches. He served as a youth group leader, street minister, and piano and drums player. He also helped with church fundraisers, district services, and volleyball tournaments in church. Nathan enjoyed golf, fishing, video games, 80’s era, Chicago Bears and Bulls, and being a chef, barber, and a former Junior Maroon Football player. He loved spending time with his family, friends, playing music, traveling, and attending church. Nathan touched the lives of many during his lifetime as he was a genuinely sweet, humble, caring, and loving man.
Survivors include his mother, Cindy Soliz; sisters, Brandi (Memo) Soliz-Troche, Bettendorf, Marisa Gomez, Moline; nieces and nephews, Ysenia, Eliana, Mateo, Andres, Isaiah, & Zacharias.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Tanilo and Patricia Quinones-Soliz; and uncle, John Soliz.
