Norm Kelley, Sr.

Norman E. Kelley, Sr., 80, formerly of Silvis, passed away, Tuesday, December 1, 2020, at UnityPoint Trinity Hospital, Bettendorf.

Private services will be held and can be viewed on Norm’s obituary page at esterdahl.com at 11 a.m., January 6, 2021.  Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline, where military honors will be conducted.  Memorials may be made to New Hope Church.  Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., is assisting the family.

Norm was born on December 8, 1939, in Michigan, the son of Donald Sr. and Bernice (Caswell) Kelley.  He married Sharon Marie McGee in 1961.  Norm was a U.S. veteran, serving in the Navy for 4 years. He worked at Alcoa as a supervisor for 32 years, retiring on January 1, 1995.  He was a member of MGT New Hope Church, the former Moline Gospel Temple.  He loved to cheer on his Michigan Wolverines and Washington Redskins. He was an avid bowler, enjoyed golf, but above all, Norm loved to be with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon; Daughter: Cindy (Keith) Despeghel, Bettendorf; Son: Norman (Bobbi-Jo) Kelley, Jr., Reno, Nevada; Granddaughter: Ashley (Jevon) Phillips, Davenport. Grandsons: James (Elizabeth) Kelley, Florida, and Dalton Kelley, Nevada; Great Grandchildren: Holden, Daisy and Grace Phillips.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Brian Kelley; and five brothers, Donald, Neil, Kenney, Earl, and Melvin.
