Norma Mabel Hintz Bennett, 97, of Round Rock, TX, died Monday, December 28, 2015, at Park Valley Inn Health Center in Round Rock, TX.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, January 4, 2016, at Wildwood Church, 18717 Hubbard Road, East Moline, IL. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. There will also be a visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, January 3, 2016, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline, IL. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the Wildwood Building Fund.
Norma was born on July 20, 1918, in Geneseo, IL, the daughter of Walter and Nellie Hintz. She married Ernest R. Bennett on December 15, 1939, in Geneseo, IL, and he preceded her in death on November 5, 1979. She was employed for 28 years as a bookkeeper at Colona Grade School, retiring July 1, 1982. She was also a member of Wildwood Church where she served as treasurer from 1982-1999. She was a member of Blackhawk Unit of Illinois Retire Teachers Association and of Margaret Bottome-McGee Circle of King's Daughters.
Survivors include her son, Gary (Joline) Bennett; grandsons, Richard (Laurissa) Bennett and David Bennett; 5 great grandchildren, Amanda, Michael, Alexia, Victoria, and Olivia; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ernest R. Bennett; brother, Howard Hintz.
