Norma L. Cross-Williams, 84, of Moline, IL, died Wednesday, February 13, 2013, at Trinity Rock Island.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 18, 2013, at Word of Life Christian Center, 1804 7th Avenue, Rock Island, IL. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, February 17, 2013, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Private family burial will be at National Cemetery at Rock Island Arsenal at a later date. Memorials may be made to Word of Life Christian Center Rock Island,

Norma was born on February 20, 1928, in Moberly, MO, the daughter of Ralph and Mildred (Appleman) Miller. She married Charles M. Cross on June 14, 1946. He preceded her in death on February 26, 2002. She later married James D. Williams on November 16, 2002. Norma worked as the Chief Operator for Illinois Bell and later as the church administrator for Word of Life Christian Center. Norma was a member of the Telephone Pioneers.

Norma died after battling heart disease for several years. She died peacefully with her family at her side. Her life was centered around her faith in Christ. She was a charter member and Elder at Word of Life Christian Center in Rock Island. Norma will be remembered as the first person to welcome a new guest at church and make them feel at home. She opened her home numerous times to people needing a helping hand and a place to stay.

She was preceded in death by her son in law, Pastor Steve Stephens, and brother, Don Miller.
