Norma C. Strandlund, 83, of Moline, IL, died Monday, April 4, 2016, at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline, IL.
Private family services will be held and burial will be at Rose Lawn Memorial Estates. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church in Moline or to the Alzheimer’s Association. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Norma was born on October 26, 1932, in Moline, IL, the daughter of Clyde and Bessie Jones Lear. She married Warren Strandlund on September 28, 1952, in Moline. She worked in the office for Drs. Ade and Dr. Castro, retiring in October of 2004.
Norma was a member of First Baptist Church in Moline, where she also sang in the choir and was well known for her beautiful voice. She was a den mother for Cub Scout Troop 309 and a member of PTA at McKinley Elementary.
Survivors include her children, Mike (Lynne) Strandlund, Moline, IL, Pam (John) Crowe, Bettendorf, IA, Paula (Martin) Newell, Moline, IL; 6 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; siblings, Verlee Bertelsen, East Moline, IL, Gary (Tina) Lear, Moline, IL, Dan (Barb) Lear, Moline, IL, and Mary Ann (Bob) Honzik, AK.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
